Garden progress

Last week I planted the squash and zucchini in the garden and they are doing ok. Something is nibbling on them already so we either need to fence in the garden or try some mothballs. I suspect bunnies are the culprits. Cucumbers are ready to plant now. Tomatoes and cilantro still in their greenhouses but growing well.

I am so excited! It's only been a week and I have squash and zucchini popping up in their little "green house" homes.

Early Seed Sowing

I am trying to sow vegetable seeds early after reading an article about winter sowing (https://www.southernstates.com/articles/winter-sowing-101.aspx). I chose to not start in January so hopefully it will all turn out ok. This will be my 3rd year of gardening so I am still learning but surprisingly enjoying it. I feel like I have not had an abundance of vegetables (partly due to my garden is only 8x8) so I wanted to get seedlings started earlier. Plan to take pics in a month so check back :)

Airplane room in process...

I've been working on making Gabe his airplane theme bedroom. So far walls are painted sky blue, added some clouds and even a little red airplane. I wanted to make something neat replicating airplanes and pinterest gave me this idea. I got some pallet boards from work, trimmed them down and nailed them together. Painted it bright red and then added an airplane silhouette (Gabe chose the airplane) and a couple of little clouds. Spent about $10 on paint and nails.
